Parking in Rouen: lots, rates and tips (by car, van or bus)

Visiting Rouen by car, van or bus? Good news: the city has an extensive parking network with nearly 10,000 spaces across 17 locations. The catch: on weekends, lots in the historic core fill up fast. This guide gives you the insider knowledge to park smart just like a local.

Parking in Rouen: what you need to know upfront

Rouen is a dense city just 1.5 hours from Paris, making it a popular weekend destination for Parisians. As a result, downtown lots, especially those near the Cathedral and the Old Market Square, reach capacity by mid-morning on Saturdays and Sundays.

The city offers three main parking solutions: paid structured lots (underground or covered), regulated on-street parking divided into zones, and Park & Ride lots (P+R) on the outskirts, free and connected to public transit.

  • 4
Check the electronic availability signs Real-time space counters are posted at the entrance of main streets leading to the lots. They’ll save you from driving into a full garage.
